Signature annotations are freehand annotations In the Document Viewer, you can preview signatures, save signatures and apply default signature annotations directly.

Note: The tools you have available in the Document Viewer may vary. Please check with your organization administrator if you are missing something that you expected to see. If your organization wants to use advanced digital signatures, please contact your client success manager.


Creating signature annotations

  1. Click Signatures.

  2. Click Create New Signature & Initials

  3. Chose to either Draw, Type, or Upload.

  4. View your Saved signatures, to delete from the Signature List.


Using fill and sign tools

Prepare your document with fill and sign tools, found on the toolbar header within the Fill and Sign tab. You can click on a tool icon to switch to it.

Choose a type of signature annotation and preview it before you add it to your document.

  1. Navigate to the Fill and Sign tab.

  2. Click Free Text.

    1. Write text to fill in your document.

    2. Click and drag the text box to move it on the page.

  3. Click Cross, Tick, or Dot.

    1. Place any these icons to fill in check boxes in your document.

  4. Click Rubber Stamp.

    1. Create a stamp or choose a standard rubber stamp (e.g. “Initial Here”) from the Stamps panel.

    2. Click & drag to create annotations.

  5. Click Calendar.

    1. Place a calendar date, set to today, to fill in any page on your document.

  6. Click Signatures.

    1. Create new signature and initials from the Signature List panel.

    2. Click & drag to create signature annotations.

Rubber Stamp

Annotations that allow you to place an image annotation onto any page on your document; the PDF specification defines a standard set of rubber stamps.

Calendar

Annotations that allow you to place a calendar date, set to today, to fill in any page on your document.


FAQ

Does a signature annotation verify my identity?

No. A signature annotation is simply a visual representation of your signature placed on a document. It does not provide identity verification, certificate authority validation, or tamper detection.

What should I do if my organization requires legally binding digital signatures?

Please contact your client success manager to discuss enabling advanced digital signature capabilities, which can include identity verification, certificates, and document integrity validation.

Can I create signature annotations in the Document Viewer?

Yes, signature annotation tools are available to fill and sign your document within the Document Viewer.

Can I edit or move signature annotations after placing them?

Yes. Most fill and sign annotations, including signatures, initials, and free text, can be selected and repositioned on the page after they are added.

Can I save more than one signature?

Yes. You can create and save multiple signatures and initials using the Signature List. This is helpful if you need different signature styles for different documents.

Can I preview my signature before adding it to a document?

Yes. The Signatures tool allows you to preview your signature annotation before placing it on the document.

How do I add today's date to a document?

Use the Calendar tool in the Fill and Sign tab. Clicking on a page will place the current date as a calendar annotation.

Why don't I see the Fill and Sign tools?

Available tools may vary by organization. If you do not see a tool you expected, please contact your organization administrator for assistance.

Will my saved signatures be available in future sessions?

Yes. Saved signatures remain available in your Signature List unless they are manually deleted.
