Message from the CTO

As a cloud-native content platform, VisualVault has a diverse and committed team of employees who play an important role in supporting web content accessibility. We provide a range of solutions to meet the technical needs of various industries such as government, health care, higher education, entertainment, manufacturing, communications, and human resources. Further, our training programs and product documentation resources are designed to empower clients with the knowledge and tools necessary to understand our product and customized implementations.

VisualVault recognizes the significance of accessibility and is committed to fostering an inclusive environment. To address accessibility challenges, it is crucial for us to first identify and address any existing barriers. While significant progress has been made, there are ongoing efforts to further enhance accessibility. Our Accessibility Roadmap outlines our priorities and objectives in creating a barrier-free platform. We value and encourage feedback at any time about accessibility at VisualVault.

508 Accessibility Consultant

The Executive Administrative Assistant to the CTO will serve as your 508 Accessibility Consultant. The consultant will accept reports of VisualVault product and services' web accessibility noncompliance, conduct fact-finding investigations, and will be assigned to oversee the resolution of web accessibility issues.

What laws/rules/regulations pertain to web accessibility?

VisualVault is committed to ensuring that the information and communication technology (ICT) it creates or utilizes in conducting its software development and implementation are accessible in accordance with applicable law (including Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. In addition, VisualVault requires that all electronic content adhere to WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards.

What is Section 508 and how does it apply to me?

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 was revised in 1998 and included web accessibility requirements that were later developed into a set of §508 Accessibility Guidelines. These set the standard for web content accessibility compliance.

Does VisualVault have an ICT accessibility policy?

VisualVault is currently developing an ICT accessibility policy. We are investigating opportunities to improve organization-wide governance for ICT accessibility, have identified key individuals in the implementation process, and we are tracking and keeping records of ICT accessibility reporting and decisions. Currently, VisualVault has completed accessibility criteria modification for most of its key business processes and has begun using these modified processes.

Does VisualVault have a VPAT?

Yes, VisualVault has a current VPAT and updates this document annually.

Is VisualVault working to improve accessibility?

Yes. VisualVault is committed to making our products and services more accessible to all users. We're always looking to improve, and this work is ongoing. We're in the process of reviewing our services to improve user experience and to make it easier for our customers to make their sites accessible.

What level of accessibility compliance does VisualVault adhere to?

The VisualVault core product is compliant with WCAG 2.1 (Level AA) Standard for accessible design.

Who is responsible for my website accessibility?

Accessibility requirements may differ by country, state, or regional jurisdiction. You're responsible for ensuring that your site complies with those requirements. One way to assess and improve your site accessibility is by consulting resources like this accessibility checklist from the A11Y Project. Although following this checklist may not guarantee your site will be in line with applicable accessibility requirements, it may help improve your site's usability.
